~ you think you know something ...

I’ve read this so many times:

dubito, ergo cogito, ergo sum 

And believed THIS translation I’ve heard and read many times, was correct:

I think, therefore I am. - Rene Descartes

I expect you’re familiar with this too. Things we’ve heard many times are part of what we take for granted without thinking about them very much.

But, that is NOT the full/correct translation …

Don’t worry - unless you speak conversational Latin at the breakfast table, you probably wouldn’t have talked much about the full/correct translation:

I doubt, therefore I think, therefore I am
