I was thinking about human nature, and how we use that term to explain things, to give an excuse for something some human has done that impacts another person, impacts many of us, or just one person - for something we’ve done, or failed to have done, that impacts someone else.
So is it really about human nature, if there is such a thing - or is it the nature of certain humans?
Billions of people I don’t know might behave in predictable ways, but I only know the ones I interact with …
Someone wrote me these words yesterday,
Things will get better.
Hang in there…
Whatever our situation, wherever we are, there are so many things to be thankful for, and it’s good to realize - at any time of the year, that there are always many things to be grateful for because there are always those less fortunate than we are who need a helping hand from time to time.
I publish this Musings column daily and post poems, short stories and other ‘plus/+’ content weekly. Many of you enjoy this content for free, and I truly appreciate your readership. Paid subscriptions are modest: $8 monthly (26¢ a day), $72 annually (20¢ a day), or you can donate any amount. Paid subscribers get extra content, but everyone is welcome - your presence matters. But if you haven't yet become a paid subscriber, I'd be grateful if you'd consider it. Thank you for reading Musings, and thanks to Substack for supporting writers like me. Warm regards, Mark
