Mary - thanks - I have high regard for your talent and your brain, so when I get a response from you, I usually look at it right away. While I'm not familiar with that poem, I'll check it out. I have long been a fan of Tom Peters' similar take: Ready, fire, aim! ... which it's easy to say from the sidelines or the bleachers, and a different matter entirely while falling through the air after having leapt off the cliff. I don't think most of us actually leap without knowing where were are going or might land, but I do understand surprise or 'the unexpected arrival of a life-altering change of circumstances or 'opportunity to change immediately' because we can't go back or resume what we thought we were doing. It's a kick in the head, the gut, or the pants. I prefer the pants ... Cheers, Mark
I needed this kick in the pants! Time to stop working outside and get back to the WIP.
You are welcome! ... happy to help ...
Ah, yes. Mark, Have you read Auden's poem "Leap Before You Look" that ends with this line:
"Our dream of safety has to disappear."
